'I have always understood the game.' Karen stumbled and stepped on the faun's hoof- again. "Pay attention to where you're putting your feet, human!" the faun snapped. Uh-oh, he had gone too far that time. Æsir grabbed the faun by the arm and spun him around. "Be respectful to the lady." "You try teaching her, then! It's hopeless." The red-furred creature pulled his arm out of the elf's grasp, scowling. "I'm sorry," Karen muttered. "I can do better! Just give me another chance!" Being clumsy gave her the appearance of being helpless, which made her more human-like. "Why? You have two left feet." Karen felt slightly dorry for her dance instructor. Maybe she shouldn't have stepped on his hoof so hard. Æsir stepped back, watching like he always did. "Alright," Hyran said, "Once again."

"You got a faun to teach her?" Neilan was suddenly standing next to Æsir, whispering amusedly in his ear. "Honestly." He raised his voice slightly. "Why, can't you teach her any better? She looks like she has two left hooves."

Æsir glanced at Neilan, eyes flashing humorlessly. "I doubt anyone would be able to teach her to dance. Fauns are some of the best dancers there are under the hill." But then he smiled, glancing at the faun and Karen again. "She's still clumsy like a human. Hopefully she'll get over herself." In the middle of the dance floor, Kurai looked up when she heard Neilan and stumbled characteristically . . . . or un-characteristically. It was hard to tell sometimes whether or not she was purposely clumsy. She had allowed herself to get better . . . . slightly.

"Still, fauns dance differently than mere humans. She needs someone who's legs move similarly to her own. Faun's joints are practically reversed. And I hear that you dance so well, so it'd be a shame not to give it a try, don't you think?" Neilan's hand shot up, pushing Æsir forward towards the awkwardly dancing duo.

"What? I don't dance," Æsir grumbled. Nevertheless, he interrupted the two and took up the dancing. Karen shot a cold glare at Neilan over Æsir's shoulder as if saying 'thanks a lot, I really needed that'. "Oh, hello, Æsir," she said, acting a bit bored. Karen tried not to touch him as much as possible. Meanwhile, the faun took the elf's place at Neilan's side. "Better him than me," the faun chuckled. "He'll learn." Indeed, Æsir was learning quickly to avoid Karen's punishing feet, resulting in a kind of shuffling dance.

Neilan grinned. "Hey, Karen, your standing way to far away." Some metal reached out and pushed the pixie hard against her partner. "Now, Æsir, try to take that grimace off you face. It's distracting me from your dance's unique elegance."

Karen stumbled against Æsir and he caught her, setting her right again. “Careful,” he said coldly, you might hurt someone.” Karen took a cautious step back from the nettled elf. “Perhaps we should end this session.” It wasn’t a request, it was a subtle command on the pixie’s part. “We should. Goodbye, Karen.” Æsir strode off down a side passage at a quick gait. Karen swept as gracefully as a penguin down a different corridor. “Well, I be off,” the faun bleated. He cantered down the corridor Æsir had gone down.

Neilan grinned. That had been an amusing use of five minutes. He spun on his heels, following Æsir. "Oi!" He shouted down the corridor. "A word, perhaps?" His face was arranged in the most angelic of questioning gazes.

Eesir glanced back at Neilan, perfectly blank-faced. "Yes?" he asked, slowing his pace. What did the blond want now? He had already had his fun, so what was there left to do? Once Neilan had caught up, he sped up again. "It had better be quick; I have somewhere to be soon."

"You know, the bastard act only works in certain circumstances." Neilan said with a crooked smile. "Somehow I don't think yours is endearing yourself to the pixie. Just a idea." And with that he swept away, his buoyant mood so great that he was almost skipping.
